The Friends of Neath Abbey Iron Company are holding a talk: ‘The Archaeology of the Neath Area’ in the Friends Meeting House, off Morrisons' Car Park, Neath on Tuesday 6th June 2017 at 7 pm.
The lecture will be given by Dr Edith Evans of the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust.

Dr Edith Evans studied Ancient History and Archaeology at Birmingham University, writing her thesis on houses in Pompeii. Starting work at GGAT in 1980 as an illustrator, she transferred into the fieldwork section the following year, excavating in Cowbridge and Caerleon, and then carrying out survey projects on medieval churches and some types of prehistoric and Roman monuments. Since 2004, she has been Heritage and Outreach Manager, providing information and advice outside the planning system, and introducing the public to archaeology through community projects, talks, walks, displays, workshops, demonstrations and the world-wide web.
The Friends Meeting House, James St, Neath SA11 3NE is next to Neath Castle, and is approached through the far end of Morrisons' Car Park by turning left onto a footpath shortly after the entrance.
