Hutchinson Thomas, the fast-growing law firm based in Swansea and Neath, has been named the best firm for family law in South and Mid Wales, as well as being recommended in a further six areas of law in the Legal 500.
The recently released annual Legal 500 is a law firm guide used by millions worldwide, and compiled using feedback from clients as well as in-depth research into law firms.
Hutchinson Thomas beat off a number of other regional law firms to gain the top spot in family law, with the firm being praised for its ‘excellent and well-deserved reputation’.
The guide referred to the work of lawyers Robert Williams and Debbie Richards for their skills in complex divorce cases and handling of sensitive childcare cases respectively. It further highlighted the firm’s well respected and specialised childcare department which regularly deals with sensitive and emotive situations.
Alongside this top spot, Hutchinson Thomas was recommended in six other practice areas: crime (fraud), licensing, employment, charities and not-for-profit, contentious trusts and probate as well as personal tax, trusts and probate.
Hutchinson Thomas Partner, Simon Thomas, said:
“It’s extremely rewarding to be recognized for our work in such a well-respected guide, particularly our top ranking in the family law category. We have made every effort to ensure that we deal with these often difficult cases as sensitively and effectively as possible, so I’m proud to see that our clients’ feedback reflects that we have achieved this.”
The firm was similarly praised in the Legal 500 guide for the empathetic approach it took to dealing with other often sensitive private client work such as the preparation of wills, trust deeds and estate administration, court of protection applications and powers of attorney. More stories
