Students and teachers at Ysgol Gymraeg Ystalyfera–Bro Dur and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Sixth Form Centre in Port Talbot, the two schools in Neath Port Talbot offering post-16 education, are being congratulated for their outstanding achievements.
The percentage of A-Level examinations passed at grades A*-E is 98%, which remains constant with last year’s outcome.
76% of these passes were at the higher A*-C grades, an increase from last year, providing students with an extremely sound basis to pursue higher education or other learning opportunities.
The most significant increase is in the percentage of our students attaining the top A and A* grades improving by 2 percentage points to 27%, with 24% achieving these grades in A-Level qualifications.
Many students achieved outstanding results, allowing them to enter top university courses with confidence.
These include Leann Bose, Angharad Davies, Stella Diskin, Louise James, Matthew Phipps and Morgan Davies-Walker from YG Ystalyfera–Bro Dur and Anna Lloyd-Evans, Megan Mogford, Kyle Santos Gil Carpano and Dylan Mogford from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Sixth Form Centre who all secured outstanding top grade results.
Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Cllr. Rob Jones said: "This is another set of outstanding results for the county borough and I congratulate the students, staff and their parents for all their efforts. Again young people from Neath Port Talbot have achieved excellent examination outcomes that will allow them to continue their learning with confidence.
