Asbri Planning Ltd, acting on behalf of Kier Construction, the Council’s appointed contractor, will undertake pre-application consultation in respect of the proposed retail development at Water Street, Neath.
The Council is intending to apply for planning permission for the following development: eight retail units and one first floor unit together with an associated service yard, plus hard and soft landscaping on land at Water Street.
Kier Construction has been chosen as the contractors for the proposed retail scheme which, if approved, would form the next phase of the redevelopment of Neath’s town centre.
Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority and in line with statutory requirements, the proposal is subject to pre-application consultation.
Computer Facilities are available now to view the application online at Neath Library, Victoria Gardens, Neath, with the opening hours as follows: Monday – Wednesday 9:00am – 18:00pm, Thursday 9:00am – 17:00pm, Friday 9:00am – 19:00pm and Saturday 9:30am – 13:00pm. The library is closed on Sundays.
The Council’s proposal is to build retail units on the site of Neath’s now demolished old multi-storey car park to provide space for new national and independent retailers to complement those already trading in the town.

Bydd Asbri Planning Ltd, sy’n gweithredu ar ran Kiers, contractwr penodedig y cyngor, yn cynnal ymgynghoriad cyn ymgeisio ynghylch y datblygiad manwerthu arfaethedig ar dir yn Stryd y Dwr, Castell-nedd.
Mae’r cyngor yn bwriadu cyflwyno cais am ganiatâd cynllunio ar gyfer y datblygiad canlynol: wyth uned fanwerthu ac un uned ar y llawr cyntaf ynghyd ag iard wasanaeth, a thirlunio caled a meddal ar dir ar Stryd y Dwr.
Penodwyd Kier Construction yn gontractwyr ar gyfer y cynllun manwerthu arfaethedig; os caiff ei gymeradwyo, hwn fydd cam nesaf y broses o ailddatblygu canol tref Castell-nedd.
Cyn cyflwyno’r cais yn ffurfiol i’r Awdurdod Cynllunio Lleol ac yn unol â gofynion statudol, bydd y cais yn destun ymgynghoriad cyn ymgeisio.
