There are lots of fun things to do and enjoy in and around Neath Port Talbot during the summer holidays and for free!
This year’s Pontardawe Festival will be held from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th of August. It has been announced that The Filthy Spectacula will be the headline act for 2019. There will be a Celebration of the Voice from 6pm on Friday 16th August, a wonderful evening of singing in harmony with over 240 singers from 7 choirs. Neath’s Real Ale and Cider Festival is back again for the sixth time on the Friday 19th & Saturday 20th July which is being funded by Neath Town Council. There will be live entertainment around the town in a number of venues from 5pm to 9pm on Saturday and from 5pm to 10pm on Sunday. If you are the designated driver, there will be free parking available from 10am onwards in all town centre pay and display car parks throughout the festival period.
Tonna RFC will be holding their very own Music Event on Saturday 20th July at 14:00pm. There will be live bands playing outdoors or on indoor stages (dependant on the weather). Here’s the line-up for the event: Ade Owen, Karma Detectives, Ross Puleston Trio, Hat & The Fiddle Band with Young Americans as the headline act. The Gnoll Country Park will also be hosting Dinosaurs at the Park on 30th July at 11:00am. You will be able to see all the different dinosaurs, watch eggs hatch live in front of your eyes, see where dinosaurs lived and what they ate and how they would have roamed and hunted. There will also be fossils on display and there will be a free Dino Hunt with prizes to be won. Along with fare ground rides, stalls and refreshments.
Unicorns In The Park is back and bigger than ever on 2nd August at the Gnoll. Come along and meet the real unicorns and get a free photo opportunity and lots of fun and games with prizes to be won. There will also be other free activities running alongside this event such as free crazy golf (£5 refundable deposit), free garden games, free giant sand pit and giant deck, plus fare ground rides, stalls and refreshments.
Why not make the most of the beautiful sunny weather and join in the Summer Walking Festival! Neath Port Talbot Council has organised a walking festival to allow people to enjoy the rich history and nature of the Neath, Tennant and Swansea canals this summer.
The different walks will give those taking part the chance to visit an area inhabited by Britain’s biggest spider (The Fen Raft Spider), to get involved in a litter pick, to explore the wide range of heritage and beautiful natural sites around the canals, including Craig Gwladus Country Park, and to enjoy picnics and other activities on the waterside.

If your children prefer indoor fun, encourage them to better their reading skills by participating in the Summer Reading challenge. This year’s Reading Challenge, Space Chase, will be hosted at various libraries across Neath Port Talbot. They are holding a number of activities for this year’s challenge which can be found on the What’s On section of the Council’s website, together with other activities in and around the county borough, such as the popular Lego club at Neath & Port Talbot Library for children who love having fun creating with Lego.

Mae llawer o bethau difyr i’w gwneud a’u mwynhau yng Nghastell-nedd Port Talbot a’r cyffiniau yn ystod gwyliau’r haf, a hynny am ddim!
Bydd Gwyl Pontardawe eleni yn cael ei chynnal o ddydd Iau 15 tan ddydd Sul 18 Awst, a chyhoeddwyd mai The Filthy Spectacula fydd prif berfformwyr 2019. Cynhelir Dathliad Lleisiol o 6pm nos Wener 16 Awst, noson wych o ganu mewn harmoni, gyda mwy na 240 o gantorion o 7 côr. Os hoffech chi fod yn rhan o’r wyl eleni, llanwch y ffurflen fer yma.
Mae Gwyl Cwrw go iawn a Seidr Castell-nedd yn dychwelyd am y chweched tro ddydd Gwener 19 a dydd Sadwrn 20 Gorffennaf, wedi’i ariannu gan Gyngor Tref Castell-nedd. Bydd adloniant byw mewn sawl lleoliad o amgylch y dref rhwng 5pm a 9pm nos Sadwrn a rhwng 5pm a 10pm nos Sul. Hefyd bydd ffosiliau i chi eu gweld a Helfa Ddeinosoriaid am ddim, gyda gwobrau i’w hennill, yn ogystal â reidiau ffair, stondinau a lluniaeth.
Bydd Uncorniaid yn y Parc yn dychwelyd yn well nag erioed ar 2 Awst yn y Gnoll. Dewch i gwrdd ag uncorniaid go iawn a chael cyfle i dynnu llun am ddim, yn ogystal â llwyth o hwyl a gêmau a chyfle i ennill gwobrau. Bydd gweithgareddau eraill am ddim yn digwydd ochr yn ochr â’r digwydd hwn, fel golff gwallgo am ddim (adnau o £5 fydd yn cael ei ddychwelyd), gêmau gardd am ddim, pwll tywod a dec anferth am ddim, yn ogystal â reidiau ffair, stondinau a lluniaeth.
Beth am wneud yn fawr o’r heulwen braf ac ymuno â Gwyl Gerdded yr Haf! Mae Cyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot wedi trefnu gwyl gerdded er mwyn i bobl fedru mwynhau cyfoeth hanes a byd natur camlesi Nedd, Tenant a Thawe yn ystod yr haf.
