Neath Port Talbot Council is encouraging residents, community groups, third sector organisations, charities and local businesses to have their say on how to improve the well-being of people in the county borough over the next five years.
People are being asked to give their views on three draft well-being objectives as part of a public consultation which will run until midnight on Friday 8th September 2017.
They are:
Well-being Objective 1 - To improve the well-being of children and young people
“giving all of our children and young people the best start in life and helping them to be the best they can be”
Well-being Objective 2 - To improve the well-being of all adults who live in the county borough “living a good life and ageing well”
Well-being Objective 3 - To develop the local economy and environment so that the well-being of people can be improved “Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe will be a vibrant and healthy place to live, work and spend our recreational time”
Council leader, Rob Jones said:
“We want Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe to be somewhere where everyone has the chance to get on in life, where people want to live, work and bring up their families. We also want to help individuals, families and communities to be resilient and support themselves with minimal support from the Council.
“Our well-being objectives have been designed to help us achieve this. In developing them we gathered a lot of information about what life is like in our county borough and what well-being actually means to people, but it is important that we know what people think of the draft objectives before finalising them. We would be very grateful if people could take the time to give their views."
More information on the well-being objectives and a link to an online feedback form can be found at www.npt.gov.uk. Alternatively, paper copies of the feedback form and boxes for posting completed forms will be available at civic buildings, libraries and other public buildings across the county borough.
There will also be a consultation stand where people can ask questions and give their views. The stand will be at various events and locations over the summer including Tesco Pontardawe (17.7.17), Aberavon Shopping Centre (27.7.17), Aberavon Seafront (2.8.17), Croeserw Community Enterprise Centre (14.8.17), Gnoll Park (16.8.17) and Glynneath Training Centre (23.8.17).
Feedback from the public consultation will be taken into consideration when developing the Council’s Corporate Plan in the autumn. This annual plan sets out the Council’s priorities for improvement, but from this year it will need to show how the Council intends to improve the well-being of people in the county borough as required by the Welsh Government’s ‘Well-being of Future Generations Act’.

Ymgynghoriad yn dechrau ar Amcanion Lles Drafft
Mae Cyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot yn annog preswylwyr, grwpiau cymunedol, sefydliadau'r trydydd sector, elusennau a busnesau lleol i ddweud eu dweud ar sut i wella lles pobl yn y fwrdeistref sirol dros y pum mlynedd nesaf.
Gofynnir i bobl roi eu barn am y rhain fel rhan o ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus a gaiff ei gynnal tan ganol nos, nos Wener 8 Medi 2017.
Y rhain yw:
Amcan Lles 1 - Gwella lles plant a phobl ifanc
"Rhoi'r dechrau gorau mewn bywyd i'n holl blant a phobl ifanc a'u helpu i fod y gorau y gallant fod"
Amcan Lles 2 - Gwella lles yr holl oedolion sy'n byw yn y fwrdeistref sirol - "Byw bywyd da a heneiddio'n dda"
Amcan Lles 3 - Datblygu'r economi a'r amgylchedd lleol fel bod lles pobl yn gwella - "Bydd Castell-nedd, Port Talbot a Phontardawe'n lleoedd bywiog ac iach i fyw, gweithio a threulio amser hamdden ynddynt.
Dywedodd Arweinydd y Cyngor, Rob Jones,
“Rydym am i Gastell-nedd, Port Talbot a Phontardawe fod yn rhywle lle bydd gan bawb y cyfle i fwrw ymlaen â'u bywydau, lle mae pobl am fyw, gweithio a magu eu teuluoedd. Rydym hefyd am helpu unigolion, teuluoedd a chymunedau i fod yn gadarn a chefnogi eu hunain heb lawer o gefnogaeth gan y cyngor.
"Lluniwyd ein hamcanion lles er mwyn ein helpu i gyflawni hyn. Wrth eu datblygu, rydym wedi casglu llawer o wybodaeth am fyw yn ein bwrdeistref sirol a beth yw ystyr lles, ond mae'n bwysig ein bod ni'n gwybod yr hyn y mae pobl yn ei feddwl am yr amcanion drafft cyn mynd i'r afael â nhw. Byddem yn ddiolchgar iawn pe bai pobl yn gallu rhoi o'u hamser i fynegi eu barn."
Gellir dod o hyd i fwy o wybodaeth am yr amcanion lles a dolen i ffurflen adborth ar-lein yn www.npt.gov.uk. Fel arall, mae copïau papur o'r ffurflenni adborth a blychau i bostio ffurflenni wedi'u cwblhau mewn adeiladau dinesig, llyfrgelloedd ac adeiladau cyhoeddus eraill ar draws y fwrdeistref sirol.
Bydd hefyd stondin ymgynghori lle gall pobl ofyn cwestiynau a mynegi eu barn. Bydd y stondin mewn digwyddiadau a lleoliadau amrywiol dros yr haf, gan gynnwys Tesco Pontardawe (17.07.17), Canolfan Siopa Aberafan (27.07.17), Glan Môr Aberafan (02.08.17), Canolfan Menter Gymunedol Croeserw (14.08.17), Parc y Gnoll (16.08.17) a Chanolfan Hyfforddiant Glyn-nedd (23.08.17).
Ystyrir adborth o'r ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus wrth lunio Cynllun Corfforaethol y cyngor yn yr hydref. Mae'r cynllun blynyddol hwn yn pennu blaenoriaethau'r cyngor ar gyfer gwella, ond o'r flwyddyn hon, bydd angen iddo ddangos sut y mae'r cyngor yn bwriadu gwella lles pobl yn y fwrdeistref sirol, yn unol â Deddf Llesiant Cenedlaethau'r Dyfodol Llywodraeth Cymru.
