Neath Port Talbot Council’s employment and training service for adults with pan-disabilities is set to host a Christmas fayre.
The Neath Abbey based service, known as Bspoked Enterprises, is inviting members of the public to come and view its handcrafted Christmas product range.
All of the products are made by people who attend the service using repurposed materials such as glass, wood and fabrics. The finished products are then sold as household items and personalised gifts such as clocks, ornaments, garden furniture, photo frames and lots more.
The fayre will also include a number of local craft makers, a raffle and a wide selection of festive food including mince pies to turkey rolls.
Councillor Peter Richards, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, said:
“I’d encourage anyone who is looking for a unique gift to buy someone this Christmas to come along to the fayre. It is clear from the quality of the gifts made at Bspoked Enterprises that everyone who attends the service has a lot of talent and ambition.
“One of the Council’s key priorities is to ensure people with disabilities are given the opportunity to develop their skills and gain confidence so they are able to reach their full potential.”
Everyone who attends the service is given the opportunity to learn about the whole process of marketing a product, from designing, manufacturing and selling.
The fayre will be open between 10am and 2pm on Friday 23rd November 2018 at Bspoked Enterprises, Monastery Road, Neath Abbey, Neath, SA10 7DR.
